Purchased by Blue Mountain Brewery in 2014, South Street is the Charlottesville’s longest-running brewery and pub. South Street is an upscale bar with Southern food and hospitality. Vegetarian-friendly, South Street has an extensive food menu with everything from fried calamari to steak frites to vegetarian chili.

Not Your Average Bar Food
South Street doesn’t just serve your average, run-of-the-mill bar food. With a fresh and exciting menu, South Street caters to meat-lovers and vegetarians alike. Appetizers include a classic salted pretzel with beer cheese and spinach artichoke dip, with the Wisconsin white cheddar cheese curds and Asian pork wonchos adding a unique twist to the menu.
Of course, what bar is complete without wings? South Street offers favorites such as buffalo and house bbq, as well as a more exotic sweet Thai sauce. Vegetarians can swap out the chicken for cauliflower wings. There are plenty of other vegetarian dishes including salads, a veggie pita, bruschetta pizza, and mac and cheese.
Of course, in addition to the food menu, South Street has an extensive wine and beer menu. Full fights, which include all 12 draft beers, are $12, with half flights available for $6.Choose from a wide variety of beer including pilsners, lagers, pale ales, IPAs, and stout. The wine menu includes local wine from Early Mountain Vineyards, Blenheim Vineyards, and Cardinal Point, with cider from Blue Toad and Bold Rock.
South Street is a great place to go any night of the week! There isn’t much street parking available, though. You might have to find a spot in Water Street Parking Garage, which is just a short walk away from the restaurant and bar.
